As a result of client interest, CRS have now formed a dedicated operations division to provide operational support and services to our clients.
Operating a plant which includes a biological process, complex mechanical equipment together with a variable feedstock and the strict requirements of the Environment Agency and the State Veterinary Service requires specialist skills and dedicated staff. IVC composting is a relatively new method of waste treatment in the UK and the pool of experienced labour is limited.
CRS have experienced and skilled personnel in-house and are able to fulfil a comprehensive operations service. Our clients can out-source to CRS the task of operating their plant through a comprehensive operating contract enabling them to remain focussed on core business activities. One of the benefits to the client of such an approach is that CRS can operate the plant to maximise throughput based on a wealth of operating experience, thereby maximising the client's gate fee income.
We are also able to provide other forms of operational support to our clients such as temporary plant supervision if required.
Areas of responsibility that a CRS Operations contract can incorporate include:
Staff
The recruitment training and employment of suitable site personnel including site manager.
Preventative Maintenance
The necessary skilled personnel to undertake routine and service maintenance.
Trouble-shooting
Engineers and skilled technicians to investigate issues and to address and resolve difficulties.
Plant supervision
Supervision of personnel and the determination of workload priorities
Monitoring of feedstock for non-compliant waste
Assessment of process monitoring
Adjustments to processing parameters
Compliance with ABPR and site licence conditions
Site cleaning and hygiene
Hosting of site visitors
Supervision of sub-contractors (e.g. screening if out-sourced)
Compost Applications
A composting plant, just like any other waste recovery operation only achieves its purpose when the outputs find uses. CRS have staff with significant experience of both retail and wholesale marketing of compost.
CRS are willing to take responsibility for the distribution and marketing of compost. Such a contract would include services such as:
Identify suitable potential outlets and applications
Determine the most appropriate product range
Define the product specification
Arrange routine QC analyses
Arrange where appropriate certification for products e.g. PAS 100
Market product to potential outlets
Sales order processing
Delivery schedules
Delivery transport
Invoicing and credit control
